Just before 7:30 Tuesday night (December 29th, 2020), Murfreesboro Police responded to a one car crash at the Franklin Road and Brinkley Road intersection. Once on the scene, officers found the driver of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am suffering from life threatening injuries.
Lifesaving medical treatment was started on the scene by personnel from the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department prior to him be transported to the hospital.
The driver was identified as Thomas Howse, age 57, of Shores Road in Murfreesboro, TN. Sadly, Howse was pronounced deceased at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
The initial investigation has shown Mr. Howse’s vehicle left the roadway to the right, struck a utility pole and a culvert before crossing to the left shoulder and striking a guide wire, which caused the vehicle to roll over. Mr. Howse was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
The Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is continuing to investigate this crash.
