Smyrna Police were recently called to a domestic violence incident that involved an armed suspect at the intersection of Old Nashville Highway and West Sam Ridley Parkway. Apparently, a woman called police stating that another female pulled a gun on her and her fiancé.
According to the police report, the suspect was the ex-girlfriend of the other woman’s significant other and the mother of his two children – who were at the scene when police arrived.
The female who was allegedly armed with a gun reportedly drove from Illinois to Smyrna to pick up her two children who were visiting her ex.
Prior to police arriving, the female victim in the incident said that the armed mother first approached her and her boyfriend at a gas station. Keep in mind that the armed suspect was there to pick up her kids who were present with her ex. When the female saw that the woman was armed, she reportedly drove away and the mother followed them to a nearby intersection. Once stopped at a light, the mother allegedly got out of her vehicle and tried to pull her kids out of the other woman’s SUV.
The children who were in the SUV with their father and his girlfriend detailed the incident, which ended with the arrest of the armed mother from Illinois and the seizure of a Ruger .380 pistol.
The 36 year old Chicago woman was charged with aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault, auto burglary and two counts of reckless endangerment. The suspect was then taken to jail where she was placed under a $13,500 bond.
