Local attorney Guy Dotson, Jr. has passed away at the age of 57. The Murfreesboro native is the son of the late Guy Dotson, Sr., former Rutherford County District Attorney. He passed away Friday (July 3) morning after battling cancer.

His wife Nicole wrote on Facebook, "I am grieving and brokenhearted, but I know that Guy is healed, whole, and in the presence of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who will carry all of us as we mourn the loss of the most amazing man that I had the privilege of calling my husband.

Dotson is also survived by his children Samantha Rainey, Trey Dotson, Brendan Dye, Collin Dye, Evan Dye and Grace Dotson; a granddaughter sister, Bethe Becker and brothers Greg, Von and Ben.

His brother Ben is currently hospitalized after a serious car crash last month.

Visitation with the family will be Monday (July 6, 2020) from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 7, 2020) at 11:00am at The Experience Community Church.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
