(SMYRNA, TN)  Around 5:41 Wednesday (6/24/2020) evening, the Smyrna Police Department’s SWAT team (Special Weapons and Tactics Team) was dispatched to the 100 block of Bane Drive where an armed man had barricaded himself inside a home. 

The SWAT Team arrived quickly and began to negotiate verbally with the male.

The incident turned out to be a way the neighborhood showed support and appreciation for the officers, by giving out bottled water and pizza while the situation was in progress.

He was later taken into custody without incident.

Chief Kevin Arnold was moved with the show of support and thanked neighbors for their generosity. 

The issue was resolved without injuries.
