A group of private and public organizations, entrepreneurs, investors and businesses gathered in Murfreesboro on Tuesday (6/28/11) to launch Startup Tennessee. Mind2Marketplace is a partner in this network. Startup Tennessee is the second regional initiative working with the Startup America Partnership, the private sector program celebrating and accelerating entrepreneurs across the country.

As you recall, in June, 2006 Mind2Marketplace held a public gathering at the Stones River Country Club and announced the new concept to bring financial backing to inventors. It continues to be made-up of investors, inventors and other idea persons, former U.S. Congressman Bart Gordon and others.

The group will meet again at 11:30 this Thursday morning (6/30/11). Mind2Marketplace will host a quarterly meeting that will focus on the recently announced INCITE program. Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Chief of Staff Brad Smith will share the latest INCITE program developments.

The local organization is offering a variety of opportunities. In fact, registration is now open for the Tennessee Valley Solar Solutions Conference to be held August 9-10th. The Tennessee Valley Solar Solutions Conference will feature national-level keynote speakers, technology presentations, industry updates, Tennessee Valley solar initiatives information, breakout discussions, vendor displays and networking opportunities within the solar field.

One of the popular activities is the Entrepreneural Roundtable. The next one is scheduled on Wednesday, August 17th.
