NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WGNS) - A former Middle Tennessee State University soccer player lost her life following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Nashville's MetroCenter area. Metro Nashville Police Department officers identified the driver as 28-year-old Savannah Stair of Nashville.

Preliminary investigation by police indicates Stair was driving a Toyota 4Runner eastbound on Great Circle Road around 11 p.m. Friday (September 18th) night when the vehicle ran off the road at a curve, struck a curb, and overturned. First responders dispatched to the scene transported Stair to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where medical personnel pronounced her deceased. Officials noted there were no indications of impairment at the scene of the crash.

The MTSU women’s soccer team released a statement on Instagram acknowledging the loss of their former student-athlete. "We are saddened to share the passing of former Blue Raider Savannah Stair," the team posted. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time."
