MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium was buzzing Saturday night (9/19/2026) as Middle Tennessee snagged a 27–20 win over the Nevada Wolf Pack — victory number two for Coach Derek Mason and a reminder that there’s just something special about playing at home. Three games into the season, the pattern is hard to miss: win at home, stumble by a single point on the road, and bounce right back with another home‑field triumph. Whatever’s in the Murfreesboro air, it’s working.
It wasn’t a smooth ride early. The Blue Raiders (2‑1) didn’t grab their first lead until the second half, and Nevada made them earn every inch. But once the fourth quarter arrived, Mason’s squad hit the gas — scoring twice in under four minutes and never looking back.
Nevada’s troubles came in bunches. Two fumbles and an interception in the second half opened the door for MTSU’s rally, and the Raiders walked right through it. Dominic Bourgeois’ 23‑yard field goal tied things at 20 with just under ten minutes left, and moments later Antonio Martin Jr. punched in a three‑yard score that put MTSU ahead for good.
Martin Jr. finished with 104 rushing yards and that decisive touchdown. Roman Gagliano threw for 173 yards and two scores, including a 23‑yard strike to Koraun Perdue and another to Cam’Ron Lacy, who hauled in six catches on the night. On defense, Ashton Taylor and Korey Smith each posted 10 tackles, Jason Hardy grabbed an interception, and Jackson Lowe added a sack.
Nevada quarterback Carter Jones went 15‑for‑25 for 185 yards, and both Jones and Dominic Kelley found the end zone on the ground — but the Wolf Pack’s second‑half turnovers proved too costly.
Now the Blue Raiders pack their bags again. Next weekend’s matchup against Jacksonville State is technically an “away game,” though not the Florida version — this one’s in Jacksonville, Alabama at AmFirst Stadium.
