MIDDLE TENNESSEE (WGNS News) - An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into allegations of rape and sexual battery has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Florida man accused of sexually assaulting two patients while working as a social worker at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Now, TBI agents want to know if there are additional victims who have yet to come forward.
The TBI began investigating allegations of sexual misconduct involving Robert Bailey in June 2025. According to investigators, agents developed information indicating that Bailey allegedly sexually assaulted two patients between Sept. 24, 2024, and April 28, 2025, while he was employed as a social worker at Centennial Medical Center. Bailey is two months away from turning 55 years old and is pictured above this article.
On Aug. 6, a Davidson County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Bailey with one count of rape and one count of sexual battery. On Tuesday, deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office took Bailey into custody at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. Authorities say he will be extradited to Tennessee and booked into the Davidson County Jail.
Jupiter is approximately 830 miles southeast of Murfreesboro and is located along Florida’s Atlantic coast between Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach. The community has a population of approximately 63,000 residents.
Back in Middle Tennessee, investigators believe there could be additional women who may have been victimized. Authorities have released a photograph of Bailey and are asking anyone with information about possible additional crimes to come forward.
As of Thursday evening, Sept. 3, Bailey remained in custody at the Palm Beach County detention facility in Florida while awaiting extradition proceedings.
