Ray Davenport, age 88, passed away July 14, 2026 at his residence.  He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and served in the United States Navy from 1958-1963. Ray retired from Ideal-Tridon as a tool and die maker.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Burley Davenport and Mary Ann Hoover Davenport; brothers, Billy and Charles Davenport; and sisters, Barbara and Dorothy. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Welch Davenport; son, Jason Davenport; brother, David Davenport; sister, Judy Davenport; and grandchildren, Ashton Smith, Laylah Davenport and Skylar Davenport. He is also survived by his fury friends, Lucy and Buddy.

Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery with Bro. Jim Powers officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
