MURFREESBORO, TN - On this episode of WGNS Action Line, host Scott Walker sits down with Dr. Rebecca Oldham, assistant professor of Human Development and Family Studies at MTSU, to discuss the critical issues of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and family violence. As the organizer of the third annual Family Violence Professional Panel Series, Dr. Oldham shares insights into this important three-part event taking place on March 17, 24, and 31 at MTSU’s Academic Classroom Building.

Each panel will feature local experts, legal professionals, advocates, and law enforcement discussing topics such as intimate partner violence, child abuse, and elder abuse. These free sessions, open to students, faculty, and the public, will provide practical information, Q&A opportunities, and networking receptions with refreshments. Tune in to learn more about how MTSU is addressing family violence issues and providing resources for awareness and prevention.

There will be American Sign Language interpretation at the event. For those who wish to register to attend in person or via Zoom are asked to register at https://bit.ly/FVPanel2025. Registration is encouraged — but not required — to attend.
