Murfreesboro, TN – This Saturday, November 9, 2024, model car, boat, airplane, and military model enthusiasts will gather for the much-anticipated 2024 Model-Con, taking place at the Rutherford County Lane Agri Park from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event, organized by the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) of Middle Tennessee, promises a day filled with impressive craftsmanship, friendly competition, and a chance to connect with fellow model-building fans.

The highlight of Model-Con 2024 is the model-building competition, where contestants will showcase their skills as visitors watch to decide who truly has the top model-building talent. The event will feature categories ranging from single-engine airplanes and multi-engine jets to a variety of car models, including imports, muscle cars, and custom builds. For those drawn to military models, there will be a dedicated space for military dioramas, sure to capture the attention of history buffs and model enthusiasts alike.

Vendors, collectors, and fellow hobbyists will also set up shop, with booths offering rare parts and supplies for model and RC builds. Whether attendees are seeking hard-to-find pieces, limited-edition kits, or unique items to add to their collections, Model-Con’s vendor hall has them covered.

IPMS/USA, the organizing body, has a rich history in the world of modeling, dating back to its origins in the 1960s in Great Britain and the founding of its U.S. branch in 1964. With over 5,000 members today, the society is dedicated to promoting the art of model building, providing a space for skill-sharing, and hosting a variety of contests across the nation.
