Drought Conditions Persist in Rutherford County and Middle Tennessee

Oct 28, 2024 at 09:47 am by Rutherford Weather

October has been exceptionally dry with very little rainfall recorded. Most of Rutherford County is in a moderate drought according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

October is usually a very dry month but this year has been especially so. It's also the month we see peak drought conditions in the state. A little rain over the weekend and this week on Thursday are the only chances we've had this month.

Drought-related risks like wildfires and low river levels are primary concerns during this time of year.

Keep in mind that November begins a secondary severe weather season for Middle Tennessee with the clash of fall and winter air masses.
