RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Police officers, Sheriff's Deputies, firefighters and other first responders will hand out candy to kids during the annual Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force’s Trunk or Treat... That was Rutherford County Sheriff's Sgt. Austin Watson.

The event will be in front of the Tennessee Driver’s License station... As parents drive their little ghosts, goblins and princesses through the line of emergency responders, they'll drive by a long row of police cruisers, fire engines, ambulances and other vehicles, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Shawn Boyd. Also on hand, the Tennessee Department of Transportation workers.

Lt. Boyd commented, “The Trunk or Treat is a safe place to come and receive candy and interact with the emergency responders in Rutherford County.”

Again, the annual Trunk or Treat will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29 on Samsonite Boulevard in front of the Tennessee Driver’s License station. When parents pull up, they should enter from Old Salem Road to Samsonite Boulevard.
