DEKALB COUNTY, TN - In nearby DeKalb County, TN, a man from Nashville identified as 70-year-old Joseph Michael Glynn, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife, Jackie Glynn, on New Year’s Day. The crime of murder occurred at their Nashville home, but after the murder happened, Glynn buried her body on their property in DeKalb County.
Glynn pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in Davidson County Criminal Court. According to authorities, Glynn struck his 76-year-old wife with a hammer, transported her body to the Belk Community in DeKalb County, and buried her in a freshly dug grave. Glynn also hid Jackie’s Toyota RAV4. Reports indicate it was believed to have been towed by Glynn and later found on Barnes Mill Road.
Jackie was reported missing, prompting a TBI Silver Alert due to her medical condition. After an investigation, Glynn confessed, leading officers to the burial site. Her body was found in a grave on their DeKalb County property, covered with dirt and roofing shingles.
Glynn admitted to disposing of the murder weapon and selling some of Jackie’s belongings after the murder. No local charges were filed against him. A second arrest in the case involved 29-year-old Anthony Tate Miller, who was charged with filing a false report related to the investigation.
