Murfreesboro, TN – The head girls’ soccer coach at Riverdale High School, Nathan Sweet, was arrested Monday night (7/1/2024) and charged with two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and sexual exploitation of a minor. His bond was set at $75,000 and Sweet is being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
Rutherford County Schools Chief Communications Officer Jame Evans told WGNS, “Sweet was hired by the district in February 2014. A review of his personnel file shows no prior disciplinary issues. Sweet has been placed on unpaid suspension pending the outcome of the investigation, which is our standard procedure.”
Nathan Sweet’s hearing is set for August 6, 2024.
