Both Murfreesboro and Smyrna will host their summer reading kick-off parties at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. These events will mark the beginning of a summer filled with literary adventures, interactive activities, and a chance for children to connect with their peers over a shared love of books.

The summer reading programs are designed to prevent the "summer slide" by keeping children intellectually engaged during their break from school. Through a variety of reading challenges, storytimes, and special events, the libraries aim to create a fun and educational experience for all participants.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the kick-off parties and sign up for the summer reading programs. The libraries are looking forward to a season of reading and discovery, helping to instill lifelong reading habits in the young members of the community.

Summer Reading events will start with a party at Patterson Park and the MGL Library this Wednesday, May 22nd at 2:45.

For more information about the summer reading events, visit the Rutherford County Public Library website, or contact the libraries directly.
