LaVergne, TN - Late last week, Nashville Metro Police conducted a search at a home in Rutherford County in pursuit of evidence connected to a string of crimes within their jurisdiction. The investigation culminated in arrests on Wednesday night by Metro Nashville's Violent Crimes unit detectives, with aerial support from a police helicopter, apprehending three individuals suspected of over a dozen robberies targeting apartment complexes in South Nashville.
Among those apprehended are 26-year-old Jorge Alvarado and 34-year-old Carlos Beltran Jr., accused of robbing a man in an Antioch parking lot near Nolensville Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard. Alvarado was reportedly armed with a handgun while Beltran brandished what appeared to be a long pipe. The suspects fled the scene in a Kia Sportage, which detectives intercepted shortly after the incident, recovering a handgun and a long floor jack handle from the vehicle.
During interrogation, Alvarado confessed to his involvement in the robbery. Both Alvarado and Beltran face charges of aggravated robbery, with Alvarado also charged with unlawful gun possession as a non-U.S. citizen, leading to a bond of $152,000 each.
Meanwhile, detectives executed a search warrant the following day at a LaVergne residence believed to be the suspects' residence, uncovering two firearms, three face masks, and additional evidence tying them to further crimes in Nashville. However, authorities are withholding mugshots due to their suspected involvement in other robberies.
A third individual, 33-year-old Keyla Orellana-Vasquez, was also arrested and charged with unlawful weapon possession as a non-U.S. citizen after claiming a handgun recovered from the SUV. She has been released on a $1,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to gather further evidence and potentially link the suspects to additional criminal activities in the area.
