Gas Leak in Murfreesboro has been Contained

MURFREESBORO, TN - Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue responded to a gas leak at Rogers Petroleum on Bridge Avenue in Murfreesboro Tuesday morning. Once on site, they headed to their main storage facility, arriving at 9:11 a.m. There, an estimated 658 gallons of gasoline leaked from a failed pipeline. 

Since that time, the leak has been contained. According to a report from Public Information Officer Larry Flowers, “Most of the gas absorbed into the ground.”  A HazMat cleanup crew was called to the scene for cleanup. 

Working the incident on Tuesday morning included Personnel with MFRD HazMat 11, Ladder 1, Rescue 11, Battalion Chiefs 1 & 2 and Rutherford County EMA assisted with the incident.
