(CHRISTIANA, TN) A Rutherford County woman who crashed in the Christiana Elementary and Christiana Middle Schools’ zone Thursday (8/24/2023) was charged with DUI and drug offenses Friday night (8/25/2023), according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. Corporal William Travis said,  "25-year-old Caitlyn Miller was charged with DUI and four counts of simple possession of fentanyl, heroin, Xanax, Oxycodone and marijuana by Deputy Brandon Lorden."

No students were injured during the incident.

The investigation showed Miller was stopped in a line of cars when she accelerated and partially exited the road Thursday afternoon. Cpl. Travis continued, “She was in the school zone between the middle and elementary schools as the schools were letting out. She hit the guard rail on school property.”

School resource officers, patrol deputies and Emergency Medical Services paramedics treated her at the scene before she was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for further treatment.

Caitlyn Miller's hearing is set for November 7, 2023 in the Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
