(MURFREESBORO) This coming Tuesday (9/25/2023) marks the Silver Anniversary for Special Kids. Co-founder Carrie Goodwin noted, “God has blessed Special Kids over the past 25-years and guided our path from a single building in 1998 providing all services to today a sprawling four building campus.”
Goodwin continued, "I feel Special Kids is so blessed because of the community, the incredible staff that accepts the mission they’ve been given to serve children as well as the current and past board members. Dr Jerry Collins has been our medical director and rock since day one and Chris Truelove who beyond the many challenges we have faced has stayed true to the vision of serving God's children!
There are truly too many people to even name every one of them who have contributed to 25 years of Special Kids. But every one of these people past and present have accepted the challenge that was somehow laid upon each one of their hearts.
Goodwin concluded, “Isn’t it cool to see what God has planned when we just obey his direction? Lives are changed. Not only the lives of the children and families served at Special Kids, but the lives of the board, the staff, volunteers and community. We are all better, because Special Kids allows us to serve others."
