RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - School zoning will soon change and the Rutherford County School Board will be working with an outside organization to help make those changes. RSP & Associates will develop a rezoning map that includes a brand new county school... That was County School Board Member Claire Maxwell in Zone 5. She stated...
The rezoning plan will take into account a long list of concerns... Also to be taken into consideration will be new school additions, which were recently approved by the Rutherford County Commission... Maxwell told WGNS the rezoning project will take about 6-months to complete.
Looking Back - The county schools moved forward with the purchase of land in the Blackman Community last year for the purpose of building one to two new schools on. The county bought 65-acres of Batey's Farm, which was a total of 408.5-acres in size at the time of purchase. That purchase equaled a little more than $5-million.
