Murfreesboro Police Attempt to Identify "Elderly Female" in Shoplifting Case

UPDATED: (MURFREESBORO, TENN.) Another “Be On the Lookout” has been cancelled, thanks to the work of Murfreesboro Police and community members. The case revolves around a suspected shoplifting incident at the Kohl’s Department Store on Old Fort Parkway. Detective Aaron Gonzalez has been overseeing the investigation.

On February 25, a loss prevention worker at Kohl’s reported to police that an unknown elderly female entered the store and allegedly took nearly $400 worth of children’s athletic clothing. After the woman gathered the clothes, she reportedly smuggled them out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

When authorities sent WGNS a description of the subject, they described her as walking with a limp and using a cane to balance her stride, which may have been the key detail in leading detectives to the correct person of interest. MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers confirmed, “Detective Gonzalez has identified the person of interest in the shoplifting case at Kolh's. Warrants have been obtained for her arrest for theft of property.”

Again, the person of interest has been identified and a warrant for her arrest has been obtained.
