Warren County, TN - Not too far from Rutherford County in nearby Warren County, the long arm of the law is on the lookout for a burglary suspect after nabbing one, while the other got away.
On February 28, 2023, Warren County Sheriff Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on Northcutt’s Cove Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that entry had been made into the home by shattering the glass on an entry door, and the home was found to be in disarray.
According to a witness, the suspects had left the scene in two (2) separate vehicles prior to the deputies’ arrival. He gave the deputies a description of the vehicles, at which time the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was advised of the situation and asked to be on the lookout for these vehicles. Deputies Vincent Cooley and Jackson Franks learned from the Grundy County officers that they had encountered the vehicles in question, and they were at a residence in Grundy County.
After a thorough investigation conducted by Warren County Investigators Spencer Pryor and Gary Kemper, a search was issued for a residence in Grundy County, where property belonging to the victim of this investigation was located. Probable cause was found that Lisa Annette Benton and Delbert Dewayne Dodson were responsible for the burglary and the theft of property, and arrest warrants were issued for each of them. Ms. Benton has been arrested and she remains in custody at the Warren County Jail. But, the male in the equation has been able to elude officers who are currently searching for Delbert Dewayne Dodson.
If you have any information on the location of Mr. Dodson, you’re encouraged to contact Warren County Investigator Spencer Pryor or Investigator Gary Kemper at (931) 473-8032, or through the non-emergency number for the Warren County Dispatch Center at (931) 668-7000.
Warren County Sheriff Matheny commended the work of Warren County Deputies Vincent Cooley, Jackson Franks, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, and Warren County Investigators Spencer Pryor and Gary Kemper for their work in solving this crime.
