UPDATED: Eagleville, TN – WGNS has more information on an accident that took place just before noon on Wednesday in Eagleville. The wreck, involving a semi-truck and a mail carrier, happened near the intersection of Horton Highway and Allisona Road in Rutherford County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Michelle Michael was delivering mail in her small Nissan SUV when a Kenworth dump truck rounded the curve. The oversized truck, driven by 44-year-old Charles Obarr, collided with Michael’s vehicle. The collision caused injuries to both drivers.
The THP reports both Michael and Obarr were wearing their seatbelts when the accident occurred around 11:30, Wednesday morning (March 1, 2023). Investigators said that no charges were filed and no charges are pending at this time.
Rutherford County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the accident to divert traffic away from Highway "41 A," which had to be temporarily shut down on Wednesday. EMS paramedics treated the injured patients, while the THP investigated the collision. Eagleville Police and firefighters were also dispatched to the wreck and assisted with the investigation and provided aid to the two drivers.
The extent of injuries suffered by Michael and Obarr has not been released.
