(TULLAHOMA, TN) Around 9:15PM last Friday night (1/20/2023), firefighters reported flames on the roof at Life Care Centers of Tullahoma, 1715 N. Jackson Street.

Staff at the Tullahoma nursing home was evacuating patients from the facility when firefighters arrived.

The visible flames were from the HVAC unit, and the smell of smoke was reported throughout the building.  Flames were knocked-down quickly, and hot spots were extinguished.

According to Tullahoma Fire Marshal Nick Kimbro, “To our knowledge, no patients were transferred to other facilities. An aggressive fire attack on the roof in correlation with the fire suppression system--contained the fire to the area of origin.”

Several agencies quickly responded and worked together as a team. As a result, no injuries were reported.

Special thanks to the responding agencies: Tullahoma FD, Manchester FD, Hickerson Station VFD, Arnold Air Force Base FD, Coffee County EMA, Moore County EMA, Coffee County EMS, Moore County EMS, Bedford County EMS, Lincoln Medical Center EMS, Grundy County EMS, Warren County EMS, A & E Ambulance, AmeriMed Ambulance, and Vanderbilt LifeFlight.
