RC Fire Chief Larry Farley on Homeland Security Council

(NASHVILLE) Tennessee Governor Bill Lee appointed Rutherford County Fire-Rescue Chief Larry Farley to serve the Homeland Security Council as a Representative of Fire Chiefs.   

Chief Farley stated, “I am very honored and excited for the Governor of our great state, to appoint me to the Tennessee Homeland Security Council. Not only will I be representing the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association, but Rutherford County as well.” Mayor Joe Carr, reflected, “I’m not surprised at the appointment of Chief Farley because I know the talent, expertise, and leadership he possesses.  We are fortunate that he calls Rutherford County home.” 

Farley’s career spans 33 years with 20 years of leadership and management experience.  Farley began his career in 1989 as a volunteer firefighter in Rutherford County.  In 2010 he was appointed the first fire chief of Rutherford County.  He supervises 3 stations with 82 full-time firefighters.  He has obtained the highest Fire Officer certification in the state of Tennessee, as Fire Officer IV. He is a member of several associations such as Rutherford County Fire Chiefs Association, Tennessee Firemen’s Association, Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association, International Association of Fire Chiefs, Tennessee Chapter of International Association of Arson Investigators, Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association, and past President of Middle TN Fire Chiefs Association.

The appointment is effective immediately and continues at the pleasure of Governor Lee.
