Recent Disciplinary Actions filed Against Local Businesses by the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance

Rutherford County, TN—A local auto dealer is facing a $1,000 civil penalty after being cited for allegedly having an unlicensed salesperson at Haynes Auto LLC, according to the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance. The information was released on the monthly Disciplinary Action Report filed by the state. Evidently, the penalty was levied against the business this past September. Haynes Auto, LLC operated on West College Street, according to their most recently updated LLC information listed with the state earlier this year.

The same report cites a $1,000 penalty against ‘Reynolds Unlimited’ for having what was called ‘Unlicensed Activity.’ Reynolds was listed under the category of “Contractors & Home Improvement, limited licensed electricians and limited licensed plumbers.”

August Report Information - During the previous months report there were at least four Rutherford County business or persons listed as having civil penalties. Under the category of “Cosmetology & Barber,” Legacy Barber Lounge was hit with a $2,000 civil penalty for allegedly “Permitting an individual to practice without a license and no licensed shop manager present during the operation of the shop.”

One business in LaVergne is facing a $10,000 civil penalty, according to the Department of Commerce & Insurance. Thrope Design, LLC, which is listed under the category of “Contractors & Home Improvement, limited licensed electricians and limited licensed plumbers,” received the costly penalty for what the state listed as “Unlicensed activity” on August 2, 2022.

Under the title of “Real Estate Commission,” two persons were named for having an “Advertising violation.” Those named included Karoline “Kara” L. Kirk and Joseph M. Swanson, Jr. and are each facing a $500 civil penalty.
