Politics: LaVergne Mayor Announced that he has Received Support from Top Law Enforcement Officials

LA VERGNE - Mayor Jason Cole announces that Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh and former La Vergne Assistant Chief and current Rutherford County Chief Deputy Keith Lowry have officially endorsed him.

Sheriff Fitzhugh was recently re-elected to another four-year term, and is a member of the Tennessee Sheriff’s Association, a Board of Control member of the Tennessee Corrections Institute, Board Chairman of the Rutherford County 911 Emergency Communications District, and past board member of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon County. He has worked for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s office for 24 years, initially overseeing patrol, communications, criminal and civil warrants, and records and later serving as sheriff. Prior to his law enforcement service, he was a member of BellSouth’s management team for 25 years. Mike is a graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and Middle Tennessee State University.

Supporting Mayor Jason Cole Sheriff Fitzhugh says, “He is a proven leader with a vision for the future of La Vergne. I fully support him!”

Along with Sheriff Fitzhugh support, former La Vergne Assistant Police Chief and current Rutherford County Chief Keith Lowery says, “I have known Mayor Cole for several years, and during that time I have witnessed his incredibly strong desire to serve his community and with that he has been diligently committed to constantly educating himself to understanding the complex issues of government, finance and leadership.

He has been instrumental in bringing in new business and industry to La Vergne, that not only benefits the city, but also the county and state.”

Jason Cole is seeking a second term as La Vergne Mayor.  Over the last 4 years supporting La Vergne Police crime throughout La Vergne has decreased 16%.  “Providing our men and women in uniform the personnel, tools and equipment to do their job has been another success point for my administration. Supporting our police and fire departments keeps our communities and residents safe.”, says Mayor Jason.
