RUTHERFORD COUNTY – Over the years there has been a growing trend of threats of violence and vandalism at local libraries, some of which have turned into more than just words. In June, the American Library Association (ALA) released a detailed statement condemning such threats and acts of violence in libraries. Amanda, who is with the Rutherford County Library System, read the statement that was released by the ALA Executive Board... While there have not been any recent or serious threats made towards staff of the Linebaugh Library or other library branches in Rutherford County, local law enforcement are keeping a close eye on our local library locations.
