Over 4-pounds of meth is off the streets in Middle Tennessee, thanks to recent arrests made in Nashville. There, Metro narcotics detectives, joined by TBI agents, on Sunday arrested four men and confiscated 4.1 pounds of crystal meth and 25 grams of cocaine, both laced with fentanyl.
The four subjects were taken into custody minutes after pulling into a parking lot on Joyce Lane in East Nashville. All four are facing multiple felony charges have been identified as 34-year-old Samuel Arteaga-Hernandez, 38-year-old Reynol Arteaga-Hernandez and 40-year-old Tereso Artega-Hernandez, all of Nashville. Also arrested was 24-year-old Sergio Calixto of Fresno, California.
Prior to their arrests, detectives received information that Samuel was in possession of a large quantity of crystal meth and would be coming to the East Nashville parking lot. He was seen arriving in a pickup truck being driven by Reynol. The pickup truck was followed by an SUV being driven by Tereso with Calixto as the passenger. When Samuel was seen getting out of the truck carrying a plastic bag, detectives and agents approached both vehicles. Samuel dropped the bag and ran. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase carrying a loaded pistol and a bag of white powder. The other 3 were taken into custody without incident.
The powder Samuel carried weighed 25 grams and tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl. The plastic bag Samuel dropped contained bundles and bags of a crystal substance that weighed 4.1 pounds and tested positive for meth and fentanyl.
Samuel Arteaga-Hernandez is charged with possession of fentanyl, meth and cocaine for resale, gun possession during the commission of dangerous felony, and evading arrest. His bond is set at $135,000.
Reynol Arteaga-Hernandez is charged with possession of fentanyl and meth for resale. His bond is set at $110,000.
Tereso Arteaga-Hernandez is charged with possession of fentanyl and meth for resale. His bond is set at $80,000.
Calixto is charged with possession of fentanyl and meth for resale. His bond is set at $80,000.
