Looking back, Thompson Lane was built in the mid to late 1960's and completed in the early '70's. Needless to say, Murfreesboro was much smaller when that road first opened for motorist. Records show that the city had a population count of just over 26,300 residents in 1970. Today, that number stands at over 160,000 residents.
