Detention supervisors from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office recruited potential deputies during the MLK Day of Service Career Expo Thursday at Patterson Park Community Center.
One prospective deputy from the Expo has already notified Lt. Glen Edgell about a job at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and more jobs remain unfilled.
Edgell was joined by Lt. David Hutsell and Sgt. Phillip Davis in meeting with people interested in a career at the Sheriff’s Office.
New detention officers will be trained with the goal of performing security work associated with maintaining the safety, security and welfare of inmates at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
New hires will join the ranks in enforcing facility rules and regulations, maintaining discipline, processing incoming inmates, monitoring activities and behavior of inmates, coordinating provision of food, medical care and more.
