MTSU will award 1,672 degrees during its fall 2021 commencement ceremonies this Saturday, Dec. 11, in Hale Arena inside Murphy Center.

The Saturday morning ceremony begins at 9 a.m. sharp with degree presentations to students from the College of Graduate Studies and College of Behavioral and Health Sciences.

Afternoon ceremonies start at 1 p.m. (College of Basic and Applied Sciences and Jennings A. Jones College of Business) and 5 p.m. (College of Education, College of Liberal Arts, College of Media and Entertainment and University College).

Each ceremony is expected to last about two hours, and MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee will present the commencement address at each event.

There is no mask mandate inside Murphy Center, but participants and guests are welcomed and encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing for their own and others’ safety.

Past Gradutation Events

MTSU’s spring 2021 commencement, a three-day, 10-ceremony weekend event, was the first in Murphy Center for nearly a year in the wake of the pandemic.

The university conducted virtual commencements in spring and summer 2020, then held the fall 2020 graduation outdoors in Floyd Stadium on a surprisingly perfect late November day.

Each ceremony also will be streamed live online at https://www.mtsu.edu/livehttps://facebook.com/mtsublueraiders and at https://mtsu.edu/TrueBlueTV. The closed-captioned streaming feed will begin 15 minutes before the event.
