Heavy Rainfall Causing Flooding in Rutherford County

Flooding in Rutherford County has led to two road closures.

Heavy rainfall closed Vaught Road/Cripple Creek Road slab and Stones River slab this past Sunday in the Kittrell community.

The slab at County Farm Road has high water, which may lead to its closure.

The Sheriff’s Office advises, “Please use extra caution when driving with the threat of flash flooding.”

On Sunday afternoon, the below truck became stranded when the driver tried to cross Vaught Road.

NOTE: Deputies say that you should simply avoid driving through rushing water. Turn around, don't drown.
