RUTHERFORD, CO., Tenn. - Drivers who do not obey traffic signals will be the focus of a traffic enforcement by agencies with the Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force during "Operation Red Light" on Friday, May 14.
'Operation Red Light' will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Teams of law enforcement personnel will patrol high-crash areas of the City of Murfreesboro - Memorial Blvd./Clark Ave., NW Broad Street/Thompson Lane, S. Church Street/Innsbrooke, and Old Fort Pkwy./Cason Lane.
Murfreesboro Police Department Sgt. Greg Walker said the goal is to reduce crashes.
"We will be focusing at these major intersections identified as high-crash areas in hopes of reducing the number of crashes," Walker said. "We will also look for other violations that are contributing factors for crashes such as seatbelt, hands-free, improper lane use and other moving violations."
The Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force includes ten different county and state law enforcement agencies. The goal of the task force is, 'Saving Lives Through Proactive Traffic Enforcement'.
