Kid entrepreneurs were out in full force for the 1st annual Boro Kid-Con, an event geared towards young entrepreneurs this past Saturday (event was held on June 26th) at the Lane Agri-Park in Murfreesboro TN.
At Boro Kid-Con, children of all ages got to see interactive booths, participate in crafts with a focus on STEAM, and see Junior Entrepreneurs showcasing their talents. Collectors of fidgets, slime, Lego People, and Pokemon were also thrilled to visit the “Swapping Stations,” where collectors came together and traded their commodities with other enthusiasts.
Jennifer Lowe and Stephanie Mastin, the creators of this event, are two moms who have a vision for kids to explore their interests while having fun. “It all started with my two kids who obsessed with fidgets and slime. They love getting with their friends and making and trading these items. That’s where the idea started,” said Jennifer Lowe. “My kids love making money and coming up with ways to sell their creations. I just knew that there would be other kids with the same passions and interests.”
Jamie Bohanon, the mother of Irie Bohanon, a junior entrepreneur with “Everything Irie” says, “What a great opportunity for kids to work alongside one another while having fun and gaining a sense of accomplishment!”
