The Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity has scheduled an upcoming project to bring different backgrounds and different faiths together.

The Unity Panel Build will be held on Saturday, July 24 (9am – 3pm) in the parking lot of The Avenue on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro.

Organizers say that Churches, different faith groups, companies and individuals will be a part of the build.

This Habitat build is being presented by First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Murfreesboro Muslim Youth organization.

The construction will allow for all faiths to come together to construct walls while working hand-in-hand with Habitat Future Homeowner Desmond, a single father who has four young children. More unique to a single father of four is the fact that three of his children are triplets.

100 Community volunteers will come together on July 24th to build all of the walls for Desmond's house. As the walls are constructed, volunteers can walk through the house with Desmond and sign the wall studs with well wishes for him and his family. At the end of the day, the house will be deconstructed and the walls will be transported to the lot location of the Legacy Pointe subdivision in Murfreesboro. Desmond's house is expected to be completed by December 2021.

The community is invited to join in for a celebration of faith and unity. This will be the first of what will be come an annual “Unity Panel Build.”
