Discovery Center: Black History Celebration on Feb. 28th in Murfreesboro

On Sunday (2/28/21), stop by the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro for music, puppet shows, storytelling, and hands-on activities celebrating Black history, arts, & culture! This special day will include both on-site and virtual programming options for connecting at home.  The entire day will be Free and open to the public.

Black Murfreesboro is a part of Discovery Center’s 2021 Black History Celebration. Black Murfreesboro is a 501(c) 3 Non-profit organization charged to assist in relieving disparities in the black community. The group reports that a critical part of their mission is to help promote and connect Black-Owned businesses in the community.

During this year’s Black History Celebration, on February 28th, they will have a variety of local Black-Owned businesses present to display, engage and inform attendees about their businesses, craft, and culture. 

While admission to the museum is limited capacity and first come, first served, Black Murfreesboro’s outdoor market is available to the public all day, 9 am-4 pm. 

In the event of inclement weather, Black Murfreesboro vendors will move indoors, though food trucks may not be available depending on the severity of the weather.
