Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue along with police responded to a Haz-Mat situation on the downtown square Wednesday evening (9/9/20).
The incident was at 10 N. Public Square, which is a real estate building that also contains multiple office space.
Evidently, a letter that had some sort of powdery substance inside of it was sent to the address. The fire department took possession of the letter to examine the contents of it.
As it turns out, the powdery substance turned out to be oyster shell calcium used to feed chicken to harden their eggs.
No one was harmed and the building was properly cleared and given the greenlight to resume normal operations.
