World Outreach Church continues its Saturday evening worship services and free mini-concert series this weekend, lining up performances by guest musical artists for their upcoming services, along with food trucks for the outdoor services, which take on a family-friendly festival type atmosphere.
This week’s guest artists include Zach Williams and We the Kingdom. Williams will perform during the Saturday evening service and We the Kingdom will lead Sunday morning worship, while both will perform mini-concerts following the Saturday evening service.
While Zach Williams grew up with a strong and supportive grounding in the church, the rock star lifestyle pulled the musician into the excesses of drugs and alcohol for a time. But, hearing the song “Redeemed” while on a concert tour in Spain encouraged him that he wasn’t too far gone, and he turned his life over to the Lord. He has since become one of CCM’s leading artists and songwriters by carving a niche with his singular blend of southern rock, country, and faith-filled songwriting, which quickly awarded him his first GRAMMY Award® with his debut album, 2017’s Chain Breaker. With two additional GRAMMY nods among numerous other accolades, he now returns to share his boldly vulnerable and hope-filled sophomore album, aptly titled Rescue Story.
We the Kingdom is a breakout Contemporary Christian music/Country band whose forthcoming debut album, Holy Water, will be available August 7. The multi-generational family band—consisting of brothers Ed Cash and Scott Cash, Ed’s daughter Franni, his son Martin and dear friend Andrew Bergthold—grew roots when the Cash brothers were just kids. The group organically formed at a Young Life camp in Georgia. Scott had asked the other four to help him lead worship at the camp, and they gathered late one evening to write a song, which they presumed was for the campers.
