Many have asked what are schools outside of larger cities like Nashville and Murfreesboro doing when it comes to reopening?
In Cannon County, a reopening plan was announced this past Friday. However, plans for online learning or distant learning have yet to be agreed on. The full Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) will be considered and voted on at a Special Called Meeting of the Cannon County Board of Education this Thursday, (July 23rd, 2020 – 6:30 PM). The Cannon County plan will be uploaded to the Tennessee Department of Education on Friday, July 24th, 2020.
In Coffee County, schools will have their first abbreviated day on August 3rd and the first full school day on August 5th.
Rutherford County Area:
Rutherford County School students will return to school either in-person or through distance-learning beginning the week of August 10th. Those parents who select the distance-learning option will need to commit to doing so for the first semester because of the logistics of scheduling classes and teachers.
For the Murfreesboro City Schools, students will return to school either in-person or through choice distance learning beginning August 10.
