MFRD personnel are assisting with Miracle Field games on Thursday, Sept. 3. The first game has been scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., followed by a second game at 7 p.m.
Miracle Field provides athletes of all abilities with an opportunity to experience the excitement of playing baseball in an inclusive and supportive environment. The program brings together athletes, families, volunteers and community members for an evening centered around teamwork, encouragement and fun.
Firefighters will volunteer alongside players and their families, helping with activities and cheering on athletes throughout the evening. Their involvement gives MFRD personnel another opportunity to interact with residents outside their traditional roles of responding to fires, medical emergencies and other calls for service.
Community involvement is an important part of MFRD’s effort to build relationships beyond emergency response. By participating in programs such as Miracle Field, firefighters can connect with local families while supporting organizations and activities that make a positive difference throughout Murfreesboro.
